I built Nivaran to help underserved neighbourhoods reduce urban heat. The web app connects residents with cooling infrastructure and services.
I trained and employed 22 student volunteers, who carried out more than 60 heat inspections. The pilot reached more than 1,200 residents across over 40 buildings.
Over 60% of participants stayed engaged beyond incentives, and several institutions adopted our checklist across their campuses.
